On all my bike rebuilds I fit new taps on them , gone through the whole process of using old or used and having fuel pishing all over the place , getting older should mean getting wiser ! So, I just go buy brand new every time. Some RG owners report even with a new tap they are still leaking - never had this issue and can only presume they got an actual OLD STOCK tap and that stupid nylon core has dried out and leaks or they just arent centering the OFF position correctly. None of my RGs leak fuel, all have new taps on them.
