On behalf of Coach Perez, the CLCA is pleased to introduce to our alumni Andrew Navarette, the new Novice Men’s Coach for the Cal Lights, and part-time coach of our Novice Women. Andrew, who began his rowing career in high school with the Los Gatos Rowing Club, rowed four years on the Cal Lightweight Varsity (2010-14) with crews that won the Secretary of the Navy Cup at the San Diego Crew Classic and WIRA championships. He has also succeeded as a sculler, winning several medals in Open and Masters level competitions. Andrew began his coaching career with the Los Gatos Novices and is viewed by Coach Perez as a highly motivated, skilled asset who is already making his mark on the program. He is employed full time as an auditor with Ernst & Young, is studying for his CPA exams, and continues to scull in his spare time. Please join us in welcoming one of our own back to the program.
