Facebook in its infinite wisdom has decided for reasons known only to its infallible self, to hinder every attempt known to MM in putting this post up on his page. He`s now in an almighty huff in the corner watching Corrie. Normal service, hopefully, will resume tomorrow... : No, the postman doesn`t need Specsavers! An Astra`s door mirror had fallen off, and the new mirror has just been put on..with the aid of a few bits of folded card. You see, putting a mirror glass on looks easy but you only have one shot, as the sticky pad behind it is extremely strong. If the new mirror touches the cleaned mating surface crooked, there`s no way it`ll come back off again! The card is there to help guide the new mirror into place, and after a few practice runs with the sticky pad still covered up, you can be confident it`ll go on straight. The second picture took me by surprise as it looks anything but in place, but thankfully it`s an optical illusion as the reflection shows the edge of the mirror`s surround! Finally, I removed my grubby paw marks with a soft cloth, pressing the new mirror fully on to its mating surface at the same time. Happy days - you really don`t know how you miss one until it`s not there. :-)
