On behalf of United Kenya Youth Foundation let me air my honest views on the political and social development in Kenya today. Many are the times when our leaders and holders of offices spend quality time and resources to discuss and try to implement agenda that does not support the vibrant and energetic team of youth in the society. Kenyan youth can speak in one voice and accord and say that a time has come when we shall not spend our time, pay attention or even support those who are not for the good will of our country Kenya. For those who are already in leadership, we highly respect and regard you for the good work you are doing for us and on the same note, no one is perfect instead of criticism and political battling which now narrow down development and divert attention from our main focus we should have a dialog. The leaders of this country both in opposition and in government have to respect and listen the common mwananchi who has trusted them with the leadership of the country. First and foremost leaders have to be reachable and down to earth but not to be cruel and abusive to the people who voted for them. As youth we have noted with great concern that this kind of wind blows in from the election season and ends in the next general elections. And all of us including youth are left the same way we started thus no changes at all and the story repeats itself again. In conclusion, we only have four years to go. Let’s give our leaders a chance to prove their competence, responsibility, accountability and integrity as well for us to benefit as expected. Most other counties have already moved on and soon they will be far far ahead. Failure to achieve the above the society has a right through the constitution in a general election to get rid of those who did not meet the demands and failed to reach the expectations of the communities they served during their tenure. We are watching at a distance any chance lost will be most expensive chance lost and those responsible from both side will pay dearly.
