On behalf of the Claxton Fire Dept. and Ladies Auxiliary, we are asking for help for one of our very own…the Hutcheson family…our brave men are on standby at all times to respond to a fire, rescue call, or other emergency any one of us may face or have even possibly faced in the past. However, when the call comes out to respond to a structure fire and it is your very own home then some of us can only imagine the terror that is within. This happened this morning around 11:00. Michael and Meloni Hutcheson and their four children were sitting in church as this tragedy took place. Michael has been with the Claxton Fire Dept. for many years and Meloni has been involved with the ladies auxiliary and is now a part time dispatcher for the fire/police dept. Unfortunately, this family has lost everything. Losing everything is especially devastating. First of all, please pray for them. Then if there is anything you can do to help support them, please do that too. They will have to completely start over and we all realize how costly that will be. The four children attend the Claxton school system and are in need of regular clothes and school uniforms (shirts: gold, yellow, black, white, gray, and pants/shorts: black, khaki, or gray). The kid’s sizes are: Andrew Walker: 36x30 pants, large shirts, and 13-14 shoes (all men’s sizes); Dylan Walker: 28x29 pants, medium shirts, and 9-9 ½ shoes (all men’s sizes), Madison Walker: 8 petite pants, medium/large shirts (all ladies sizes) and women’s shoe size 9-9 ½ shoes; and Kelsey Walker: 14/16 girls and women’s shoe size 6-6 ½. Michael’s size is 40x32 pants, XXL shirts, and size 13 men’s shoe and Meloni 20W, XXL, and women’s shoe size 10. If you have anything that you can give to this family, I know it will be very much appreciated. If you want to drop anything off at Claxton Fire/Police Dept., then someone will be sure to get it to the family OR if you want to drop something off for me at Claxton Elementary School, I will be sure to get it to them also. I do not mind picking up items if you will just send me a private message on Facebook I will get back to you. Please keep them all in your prayers during this difficult time.
