On behalf of the Laguna Beach Police Employees’ Association and the families of Laguna Beach Police Officer Gordon French and Jon Coutchie, I thank you for your support and outpouring of love. The Police Department recently suffered a tragic loss of our second Police Officer in the line of duty, Motor Officer Jon Coutchie. As the healing process has progressed, there has been tremendous support for a memorial for Officer French and Coutchie and a place to reflect on the sacrifice our Police Department members make each day for this town. With the assistance of members from the Laguna Beach Firefighter Association, City Arts Commission and residents in town, The Police Employees’ Association is now seeking your support in getting a permanent monument installed in front of our Police Department. We have come to the point that we must now raise $40,000 to get the project built. Thank you to Allesandro and Mare Culinary Lounge for offering this venue as the first event to raise the funds to move forward with this art installation. $75.00 of each ticket to this event will go directly toward the Memorial’s developing, site preparation and installation. I appreciate the Laguna Beach Community Foundation’s partnership in helping us raise the money needed to honor our town’s fallen officers.
