On his first birthday after first posting as an IRS officer, hordes of people thronged his house flooding it with expensive gifts. Actually, it rained gifts all day, as people did not yield to any of his requests against the unwanted gesture. Everyone seemed to be in a race hell bent upon winning his heart hoping to elicit favours afterwards. It did not flatter him at all for he knew it was not for his birthday, but the sheers magic of the authority he had suddenly become. He became upset as they, in fact, were trying to bribe him in a way. After they vanished, he shared his feelings with his soul mate, his first die-hard supporter, who endorsed his opinion in a jiffy that they should not keep such gifts any longer. They unwrapped and took them to a street and sat on a roadside on a sale (at that time, there was hardly anybody who knew him) and sold off all gifts in a single day and contributed the proceeds to a charity. Today, the same person leads our fight against the rotten system alien to us for its borrowed British soul and that person infuses in youth the courage to stand tall and take the bull by its horns looking straight into eyes. This true story is enough to make us realize that it takes sheer determination of a noble soul for a person to come clean from a house of coal and emerge spotless and be recognized as Arvind.
