On his way to Rome as a prisoner, the apostle Paul found himself in yet another storm. Sick, tired, hungry, scared, cold, wet…these guys were at their end in every sense of the word. It’s hard to imagine the apostle Paul being afraid after everything he had gone through, but here we are reminded just how human he was. So what changed for Paul? Why, all of the sudden, could he stand up and say everything was going to be ok? I mean, he was still on the ship; the storm was still raging; the danger and darkness was just as intense as it was before; nothing had changed, yet here Paul stood out from among all of these men and declared certain hope in the midst of complete hopelessness. Paul was reminded that he belonged to God and that God was fully in control of every single thing, including the storm.
