On my drive home today I saw a sign at a roundabout for Jane Austens House. As someone who has a passion for creative writing and who would very much like to have my own work published one day, I thought it might be a good idea to make a quick detour to see the home of one of the greatest female novelists of all time. But I was in two minds with still an hour left of my journey. It turned out that the exit I needed to take was temporarily closed due to an accident and I had no choice but to pass the museum, so I found an easy parking space and headed inside. I took the time to read the information signs they had posted around the house, (something I rarely do), and I discovered that I share the same birthday as this renowned author. And to make the trip even more worthwhile, while buying one of Ms. Austens books (and the matching DVD in case I dont make it through the book), the shop assistant asked me about the orca necklace I was wearing, which gave me an opportunity to spread the word about Morgan and her upcoming court appeal hearing. I got home an hour later than planned but it pays to be impulsive sometimes.
