On my drive to work this morning and when I was only three blocks from my parking lot, I noticed a driver riding my tail with her windshield wipers flapping madly back and forth. I was in a yellow flashing light school zone and could not go over 25 mph. I kept my legal pace and didnt let her bumper to my bumper driving cause me to feel threatened into driving over the speed limit. But Oi, she got even closer as I remained obedient to the law. Finally, it was time for me to turn right - I indicated with my blinkers a block before hand. She kept irritatingly close to me even as I turned. We ended up parking in the same lot about three cars away from one another. When we got out of our cars, I told her she shouldnt follow drivers so closely and that she could have hit me and furthermore that it was scary. She said, Im just having a bad morning. I told her, Im sorry but that is not my fault and I dont deserve to be scared into driving faster for her benefit. Im not going to get a speeding ticket so you can get to work on time. She just walked on hurried and unapologetic. I wasnt cruel to her, I just blew the whistle on her scary driving. And now Im thinking to myself that I hope her day gets better and that she does not continue to bring forth potential danger elsewhere.
