On my walk with my dog Duck tonight I couldnt help but admire the radiant colors and complexity of the sunset, and think about how we are here for such a short time in relation to time. In the same week I said goodbye to a girl that was my age who passed away after 2 years of battling cancer, and found out a good friend is expecting, and will be welcoming a new little Dunn (nephew) into the family. He gives, and He takes away. Life is just too short not to live each day to the fullest or waste your time doing anything other than encouraging and bettering yourself and others.Thats why I have had this poem on my fridge for almost a year now... To remind me to do just that. IF I HAD MY LIFE TO LIVE OVER Id like to make more mistakes next time. I would relax and I would limber up. I would be sillier than I have been this trip. I would take fewer things seriously. I would take more chances. I would climb more mountains and swim more rivers. I would eat more ice cream and less beans. I would perhaps have more actual troubles, but Id have fewer imaginary ones. You see, Im one of those people who live sensibly and sanely hour after hour, day after day. Oh Ive had my moments, and if I had it to do over again, Id have more of them. In fact, Id try to have nothing else. Just moments, one after another, instead of living so many years ahead of each day. Ive been one of those persons who never goes anywhere without a thermometer, a hot water bottle, a raincoat, and a parachute. If I had to do it again, I would travel lighter than I have. If I had my life to live over, I would start barefoot earlier in the spring and stay that way later in the fall. I would go to more dances. I would ride more merry-go-round. I would pick more daisies. ☀️🍂🌻🌹🌷🌸
