On my way home, after a few unbelievable days at the Olympia Horse show in London. I arrived at Heathrow airport Tuesday morning, where I met up with Anne Gribbons, who was going to be my roommate for the next few days. After we checked in to hotel, we went for a walk in Hyde Park. Believe it or not, the sun was shining. Of course we got sidetracked and had to do a little shopping. In the evening we met up with our colleagues from all over the world for a lovely welcome dinner. Always great to see so many old friends. Tuesday we met Carl Hester for breakfast and then went over to the show to watch him ride and then coach Charlotte Dujardin on Valegro. There were many other World class riders in the arena, including Edward Gal, Dorothee Schneider, Danielle Heijkoop, Jessica Von Bredow-Werndl and Minna Telde. So amazing to watch all of these riders and their different riding styles. In the afternoon we had our first theory session with Katrina Wust. She made a fantastic presentation. It was obvious she had had spent countless hours preparing for this course. She is a brilliant women who loves to educate. We are very lucky to have her. In the evening we saw absolute top sport and got to se Valegro and Charlotte Dujardin set yet another World record. The entire show was amazing and great to see a packed house on a week day evening. Wednesday morning we had our IDOC (international dressage officials club) annual meeting. The representatives from the different Regions gave their reports. Cara Whitham has been the North American representative for a long time and done a fantastic job. Congratulations to Janet Foy who will be taking over and no doubt will do a great job. In the afternoon we had another fantastic presentation by Katrina Wust and also some good discussions. In the evening we watched the freestyles and the quality was top. Charlotte Dujardin set yet another World record with a flawless ride. Absolutely awe inspiring. Perfect end to a great trip.
