On my way home from the Worlds finally! The last days were really tough with me not being 100 % and the conditions tricky. Still happy i managed to complete the competition and very proud of my progress! I finished 52 in the competition and 23rd country. 13 countries qualified here and I was unfortunately out of reach after staying in silver fleet with 15 countries in the gold final, however I was inside the 25 countries going to the Olympics in total witch is a very good sign. Especially the last two days were very hard since I had a bad stomach and very low energy but I made it trough and enjoyed and learned! Now plans are to reload for a week, start my studies and then participate in a small regatta at home. One thing that makes me feel very proud to participate in the Worlds and give competition to the girls is that I have paid for basically everything myself this year, with help from my family and friends. There has been no coach, no team, just me. I have been sacrificing a lot and my parents have done so also. I have really fought and things havent been easy, but thats the charm of being an underdog. The goal was to learn and so Ive done. Maybe the general result was not the best but the learning still stays and I am so proud of where Ive arrived, making results in the top 10! Next year I feel very confident about taking the spot to the Games!! I stayed inside the qualifications until the very last day and keeping the progress I will be one of the strongest candidates for the spots next year.
