On my wifes birthday, I have the final say. This is my attempt to become a hopeless romantic poet in love with his wife: On Your Special Day Time flies so fast! This moment allow me to blast from the past Thirteen years ago I lost my first ever brand new phone It was such a pain, I was in a negative tone What was worse was when it happened My day was just starting, I thought it would take a while for the feeling to amend But just when I thought the day would be worse A beautiful lady suddenly passed by, I suddenly wished we were close Eventually my feelings of remorse over a lost phone was gone It was replaced by an overwhelming emotion of joy, blazing from a hot coal sun My heart beated faster and faster Everytime I saw her smile, her beautiful face, her wonderful figure My mind and heart chanted repeatedly, I’ve got to have her! I’ve got to have her! God must have heard my chant, as fate must have had it, Because when the gym teacher called my name, Phillipe, Phillipe, she suddenly called another Roselyn, Roselyn, her lips uttered Then lo and behold, this Roselyn came in To my surprise, oh what a feelin! What a feelin! Roselyn is the name, of the lady who made me got over what I lost We became table tennis partners that day Thanks to my gym teacher, it truly made up my day We played the entire time, I enjoyed every minute of it Although I was losing the game, deliberately, I didn’t mind What matters most was the chance that I got To be acquainted with this girl and become friends Thank God I got my break This became the start of my quest, to pursue her heart, to give her my best Oh what joy, what joy Finally I had a more personal reason to look forward to school To see her smile, to greet her as she passed by, to look good as if I was cool After months of pursuing, she finally said yes! Many events, many years had happened since then, We finished school, got setbacks, pursued careers, endured revelations about each other We got married, had a wonderful boy, events kept unfolding one after another After 13 years, we are now 31 years old We may still be clueless as of this time as to what we should really do to pursue success, But thank God He revealed Himself to the two of us, We learned to trust in Him, that He is there, that He takes care That He is for us and not against us That He is there to reward us for efforts we have done That though our efforts are not recognized by some people, God is in control and He knows what is best On your special day, please forgive me That I have simply just reminisced To remind myself how grateful I am to God for giving you to me Meeting you and being given a chance to love you 13 years ago To this day I can say, were one of the happiest days of my life Though the past makes us smile and is greatly missed, The fact that we are together makes me look forward to what the future brings I look forward for more birthdays - yours, mine, our son, and future children’s I look forward to the achievement of our dreams On your special day, I just want to say That I thank Him for your birthdays Because God must have thought of me when He made you For you I will do my best To be your shoulder to cry on, To be your voice when you are shy, To be your number one fan in your pursuit of career success, To be a listening ear, To be a father figure to our children, To be that strong voice in matters of principle, To be the man that leads our family to the Lord, To be the best man that I can be for you.
