On occasion I get an email attachment of a voice message from some - TopicsExpress

On occasion I get an email attachment of a voice message from some of my suppliers. On a rare occasion I have received one from a friend with the same app. The other day I received one that had my Orlando supplier phone number so I opened it to hear the voicemail. It was a nasty little virus. I am very cautious with email attachments and opening links, but this one snuck in under the guise of looking like an email I have safely opened many times before. This is more and more possible today because we are constantly being monitored through sites we visit and keyword recognition in our email. The name of this infection was Win32/Mabezat.B. I got it cleared up before it did anything major, but it took several hours and I had to have access to a second outside computer to get instructions. If you ever open something and suddenly a screens similar to these pop up and you have no options but to run scan... DO NOT RUN scan. It looks official enough (does not have FAKE written on it) since I knew it was not my anti-virus wear I also knew I had been infected. The worst part is if you share a network it can infect all systems on it. I have to say I have helped a lot of people remove viruses off their systems, but this is the first time in 14 years I had one. (Happy 99 was the one I opened, that opened my eyes) Needless to say I will not be opening anymore emailed voicemail apps.
