On one level, there is no point in arguing with inerrancy. The idea is thoroughly circular; its conclusions are written into its premises, so there is nothing to prove and nothing to doubt. In other words, all contrary evidence, such as biblical discrepancies or contradictions, is ruled out in advance. Unless one is willing at some point to think inductively, to weigh and to test, the general truth is unassailable... At best, this way of thinking produces confident disciples.
