On our quest to discover sites of the Japanese Christian Martyrs in the north. Here in Nikko we will visit the Toshogu Shrine where the Ieyasu Tokugawa and nearby his grandson Iemitsu are buried. It is here many Christians believe Japan was given over to the powers of darkness and this is the center of spiritual bondage that holds Japan captive. Iemitsu hated Christianity and it is under his rule, thousands of Christians were killed including the final missionary to Japan. Thus we go this morning into the Belly of the Dragon at the Toshogu Shrine to pray and investigate what many say is Japans spiritual center.
