On our way home today, just as we were pulling onto I-35 at Salina - TopicsExpress

On our way home today, just as we were pulling onto I-35 at Salina we witnessed a SUV coming from the other direction sliding down the highway toward us at 75 mph. It went into the ditch, rolled a couple times, and then flipped better than 20 feet into the air and landed on its top in our lane. Just as soon as I first saw it, I floored the accelerator and got there in time to be the second person to the guy. My niece Keeley Taylor was the third person. We helped the guy out of the wreckage and moved him away. We laid him down on the shoulder noticing him bleeding profusely from the back of his head. We noticed his Bible on the road, and study notes all over the place, his tattoo on his arm of Philippians 4:13, and the fact that he was a veteran. I asked him if he was a veteran and he said yes, five tours in Afghanistan and now look at me; laying here on a road in Kansas! I assured him that he would be okay and thanked him for his service. He smiled back at me. I then told him the Lord was with you today and he gave me a questioning look, and I went on to explain that I read his tattoo. He smiled again! A lady used her phone to call his wife, and told her there had been an accident, but her husband would be okay and then asked if she wanted to talk to him. When she put the phone to his ear his first words were you will need to pick up the kids. I just so very thankful he wasnt killed and that we were not a few seconds farther down the road when it happened! Remember I am running on pure adrenaline at this point in the day! God is good!
