On reading a thread of journalists, Alex Beech was struck by the reasons reporters preferred covering the Ukraine instead of Venezuela. First, the high costs of covering Venezuela. Then one journalist suggested that the conflict caught the media by surprise. Then a new text box appeared and a journalist wrote: the situation in the Ukraine is clear-cut whereas the Venezuela is complex...the propaganda is starting to come out on both sides. Smiley face. The story is simple. Repression is bad. Very bad. Do you get it? Will you please get on a plane and cover Venezuela?
