On soapbox: As yall know, there was a horrific accident yesterday resulting in the loss of 10 lives and 5 men suffering serious injuries. It just so happened that 3 of these men were officers and 12 of these men were minimum security prisoners. The prisoners were not murderers or rapists or child molesters but had been convicted of charges such as theft, fraud and aggravated assault for which they may have been sentenced to a year or so. The youngest was only 22. Travis has been to Abilene as this is the intake facility to determine where a prisoner will spend their time. Now, I know that maybe Im a bit too close to be totally without bias but it really angers me to see so many requests for prayers for only the officers and so many really nasty comments about the prisoners. Regardless of their walk in life, these are 15 human beings created and loved by God and loved by their families and friends. They were all equal in the eyes of God. So, if you cant find it in your heart to include the prisoners in your prayers, perhaps you should look in the mirror at your own sins. Perhaps the next time you are breaking the law - and dont you dare say you never have - and get away with it, you might realize you have no right to judge anyone. God says all sin is equal. And now back to regular programming....
