On the 26th of October I purchase two packages of moldy klondike - TopicsExpress

On the 26th of October I purchase two packages of moldy klondike candy from Walmart store number 3729. After allowing my children to eat the first 3 candies in the package, I then ate the last one and realized how bad it tasted... upon further scrutiny of the second package after my children went to bed, I found mold all over it And realized its best by date was June 16th 2014. The next morning my husband and I had to suffer through cleaning up massive diarrhea from all three of our children our daughters being only 6 but twins, have small immune systems so we were a little concerned... we contacted poison control and they said with such little mold, that it would pass, So we did not take them to the doctors. Upon direction of walmarts corporate line, I went into the Walmart store that I purchased the chocolate from to fill out a claim. when I arrived and spoke with the assistant manager Tara, her attitude was decent at best, she seemed rather irritated that she had to help me at all. As I did the paperwork, she forced me to relinquish the moldy chocolate sample by protocol then told me they sent my claim to their insurance, where after they would no longer talk to me about the matter. After speaking with their insurance Sedgwick in Las Vegas Nevada, I was aggressively confronted, being told that a Best Buy date just means that is when the chocolate is guaranteed to taste good still, but that does not mean it is expired, and that their store is not required to take it off the shelf by that or after that date.. after the conversation was over with the claims adjuster handling my case, I was told she would call me back later that day, I did not hear from her that day or the next, despite my attempts to contact her and the messages I left. after two days of not hearing from her, I finally managed to get a hold of her managers voicemail.. the next day, her manager contacted me and also aggressively confronted me... I was told they were not taking responsibility for selling the moldy chocolate, that they were dropping my claim, and sending my file over to Klondike (who I later found out doesnt even manufacture the chocolate) and that the store is now claiming they never saw any mold despite the photographs of the products sitting next to the receipt, that I gave a copy of to Tara, as well as obviously kept my own record of them. (In the attached photos you will see the product is clearly covered in white fuzzy mold.) I believe Tara, the assistant manager of the store, forcibly relieved me of the evidence, so she could destroy it.. unfortunately for me, I did make the erronous mistake of not taking a picture of the expiration date, however there has never been any dispute with the insurance, nor any of the employees that the chocolate best by date was June 16th 2014, just that there was no mold on the product, and there was no evidence my children had gotten sick. I believe Walmart has handled this situation all wrong, as according to me, it sitting on the shelf is already child endangerment, much less of course gross negligence... but now the company is lying about the incident all together without even attempting to try to apologize to my family or children, and have made it very apparent that they have destroyed the physical evidence they forced me to relinquish, as well as what I provided them for their records. We feel we have been very mistreated, and now have complete lack of respect for this company for the way they have mishandled this matter. For references you can speak to within the company that I have spoken to multiple times or I know for a fact had reviewed and spoken with me about my case are, Lily from the customer service line, assistant managers of the pyramid way sparks store, Tara and Erica, as well as the store manager Mike, who was very rude to me when I went in there mistakenly, on direction of an assistant manager of a corporate store on kietzke (who helped me with a return of some merchandise Walmart sent me during the time of this event, even though I called and canceled the transaction...) I also provided her with a set of the images upon her request. Mike did not want to take a copy, and and made it very clear he did not understand why wal-mart would give me anything for what had happened.. PLEASE SHARE AND BEWARE!!
