On the 5th October Brandeston Hall’s 1st IV Shooting Team hosted their first competition against 5 distinguished OFs from the Society of Old Framlinghamian’s Rifle Club. The SOF Rifle Club turned up in blazers and it was clear from the Great Britain emblems on their blazer pockets that Brandeston’s team were in for a tough time. Both teams shot 2 cards and during the course of the morning it became clear that the margin was closer than expected. The Hall’s team were eventually lost by 309-307 leaving the SOF champions and recipients of the A.B.Clarke Shooting Cup. Brandeston pupil, Joseph Carter was ‘Top Shot’ on the day with 101/120 and Charlotte Mears won the Reserve Shoot. Both were presented with special medals by Mr Nigel Burnip (OF). In the afternoon the SOF team went to the College range to compete against the Framlingham Team who turned out the eventual winners by 39 points. The top Shoot for Framlingham and the competition was Seb Treacy with a score of 193/200.
