On the 6th of July, JoshGen in Harare had their first meeting with 50 people including children attending. Under the capable hands of Nevil (who recently relocated back to his country Zimbabwe with his family after feeling God call him to plant a church there), the meeting was a great success and the church was born. 19 people came to Jesus at the first meeting. The church is slowly taking shape and Nevil started “starting point” (an orientation course for new members, explaining the values, doctrines and workings of JoshGen) in Eastville. Currently, there are 3 communities meeting in Greendale, Eastville and Chishawasha on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday respectively. Neville and Georgina are still leading these, but leaders are emerging and being trained so that the load can be shared. Nevil says that they have fitted back into society well, and have built great family already. We hear news of regular salvations as they go out onto the streets and share Jesus. A number of people have been baptised, including his mother and sister who gave their lives to Jesus. “I have never experienced such power from God, many tears and a great sense of His presence. An elderly granny of 65 years old also got saved,” says Nevil. “This is not easy ground to take, but we are not defined by our circumstances but by Who is in us”. This is evident as Nevil and his family pour themselves out for Jesus in Harare. Let’s keep praying and trusting God that the church continues to grow and we see a great harvest come in.
