On the 7th of January, 2015 YGE attended SASODs Entrepreneurs consultation facilitated by the GCCI. The room was filled with youths from LGBT community who run their own small business and youths who are planning to start their own business. The room burst into stories of failed business attempts by youths ranging from Chicken Business to Shop Business, with the simple fact that education had a role to play in the turn out of their business. I came to the conclusion that not a lot is being done to insight entrepreneurship with in our young people. Rightfully said by the facilitator, the education system is not structure in a way to insight this entrepreneur spirit. I also believe that by in sighting this drive will be a boost to job development in sectors in which have fail before. I made the submission of creating a shadowing program for youths who may not have written CXC etc, to have an opportunity to have a hands on experience on how business works. once they express a passion to venture off into their own business. Definitely i will be attending the GCCI meeting on Wednesday the 14th January, 2015 to see how i can contribute to this need of creators.
