On the Necessity of Theory The animal movement does not need groups and leaders. It does, however, need clear ideas. Many animal people get these confused. They think that rejecting leaders means we dont need a clear vision of the theory that animates the movement. They think that theory is unnecessary. Thats wrong and its silly. Without having a clear theory, you wont know what actions to choose to support or engage in. We also need a clear idea about what meaningful abolitionist vegan advocacy ought to be.
