On the Road (2012) OK, I read the book once 20 years ago. It was enjoyable in parts and I certainly could understand how revolutionary it was in 1957, but that was about it. Dean Moriarty did not become my personal Jesus nor did I immerse myself in Beat literature. I did not remember that much of the book and so my review would probably be different from someone who is steeped in it. ANYWAY, there were parts of the movie I enjoyed and parts where I felt that the need to condense for a 2 hr movie hurt, but thats always the case. And the focus on spirituality, one thing I did remember, from the book is shortchanged A person who has never read the book or barely remembers it will find this enjoyable. The guy playing Dean Moriarty is really good and even Kristen Stewarts performance as Marylou is enjoyable, by which I mean we see her tits.
