On the ballots you receive, you will find a Tax Advisory dealing - TopicsExpress

On the ballots you receive, you will find a Tax Advisory dealing with marijuana. Here is what the the advisory is asking in normal english: After voters legalized marijuana use in a 2012 ballot initiative, state lawmakers declared the industry was non-agricultural, meaning that pot farmers dont get the same tax breaks as those who grow things like corn or wheat. That effectively passes the taxes on to consumers. In other words, big corporate farms that raise corn and wheat will continue to get tax breaks, while the fledgling pot farmers will not. I urge you to repeal this law passed by the legislature. Doing so will force them to find revenue elsewhere. Say like not giving tax breaks to corporations that leave the state (Boeing) or taxing corporate profits... just saying. Dont forget, other than being an easy target for further taxation, raising the price of weed will only encourage boot leg growing operations to thrive.
