On the boys side, our State meet young Athletes of the Week include Seth Martin and Gabe Lachenmeier. Seth finished in 44th place with a time of 17:42. Seth is just a sophomore and he came on strong at the end of the season to end as our 3rd man. He will be a strong piece to our title run next season. I like to tell people hes the next Billy Mills. Gabe Lachenmeier also had an amazing season as a freshmen. He finished 53rd with a time of 17:55. I like to ask Gabe, Do you know where youre going to be next year? Where, he says. Right behind Eulises Cruz, (well I might use a little different language). Gabe brings a unique mix of charismatic leadership, smarts, hard work, and talent and I expect that by the next State meet Eulises, Gabe, and Seth will all be in the top ten at State. (I hope thats your goal, thats where youll be) to lead our team to a top 3 finish. Arlo Bannon, Cayden OBrian, and Charlie Rosas also ran Varisty at State and have received prior Athletes of the Week awards.
