On the eighth day of Christmas, Santa Clara gave to me: fifty-EIGHT percent diversion! Last year, SCU boasted its highest waste diversion rate yet--58%. That means we composted and recycled more than we sent to the landfill! Students, faculty, and staff are diverting more waste each year, thanks to systems like personal compost pails, desk-side recycling bins (with mini landfill waste baskets), the Food Recovery Network, and programs like Swap for Good.
