On the eve of Derek Jeters last game in NY it reminds me of why Im a baseball fan. He represents everything that is good in the game. A modern day Roy Hobbs so to speak. It isnt what Jeter has accomplished, but more so the way he did it. Walk off home run in a World Series, going yard to hit 3,000, diving head first into the stands for a foul ball in the playoffs, his play at the plate to get Giambi in game 3 of The ALDS which resurrected that team when they lost miserably at home in game 1 and 2 just after 9/11... The yanks were lifeless, I know because I was there, Jeter singlehandedly on that play, and in that moment lit a spark that carried that team to the World Series, and arguably some of the best comebacks ever in a World Series. Ive been to Yankee stadium to see some great moments and left with great memories. Jeter is a leader. His work ethic, respect for the game, and his spirit, are what makes him the ambassador of baseball. To be loved in a city like NY for 20 years is a stat no one will ever conquer. It takes a special person to accomplish an impossible feat like that. I will miss you #2, baseball will miss you. There are some that are just irreplaceable. Derek Jeter you are just that. #RE2PECT
