On the eve of my 41st birthday there is so much to reflect upon. Its hard to believe that tomorrow I will celebrate 41 years of life. Through experience, there have been so many lessons, too many to possibly write out and yes, part of me wishes I knew then what I do now. That I had the confidence and self-assurance I do now but I guess you can’t develop that without enduring hardships. The journey you go through to understand who you are, what you stand for, your values, beliefs and standards is an amazing one. My ultimate life lesson? Always listen to your instincts, trust your gut and have the confidence, conviction and trust in yourself to follow them. Over the last 4 years particularly, this has enabled me to pursue my dreams and with hard work, dedication and focus, make them a reality. My hope for the future is to continue evolving and to live my life with purpose and passion. This extends beyond a professional sense and into my personal realm too. I hope to live consciously. To soak in all the magical moments, big, small and seemingly insignificant. In your 40s you definitely have a more appreciation for life. The last ten years especially has gone by so fast and to be honest, scares the hell out of me. I have become more aware of appreciating life and the people in it. Less about material possessions and more about the memories and experiences made. I sit back and try my hardest to soak it all in. I want it etched in my memory forever. I also can’t help but feel that lump in the back of my throat because I think, “right now, right here in this very moment, my world is perfect”. Sometimes wishing that time could stand still, if even for a little while. I dream of incredible things to come. Making a difference and putting my mark on the world as a mom, wife and professional business woman, achieving goals professionally and personally, delighting in the opportunity to learn, grow and experience. As the sun rises on my 41st year tomorrow, I feel appreciative of the past, contentment for the now and excitement for the future.
