On the evening of August 27th unknown suspects severely damaged multiple plants, trees and foliage at the Botanic Gardens and S. Lions Park. It is believed that a machete or large knife was used to cut down many of the plants. Anyone who witnessed any suspicious activity in the park, or noticed people in Lions Park after curfew (12:00 am to 5:00 am), to call the police at 307−637−6500. The Friends of the Cheyenne Botanic Gardens Foundation is offering a $500 reward leading to the arrest and conviction of the perpetrator(s) of this vandalism. If you have information about this vandalism, please call Silent Witness at 307–638-TIPS. You will remain anonymous and may be eligible for the cash reward. Taco Johns is planning to donate one dollar for every combo meal (breakfast combos included) all day Friday, September 6th for a “Funds for Flowers,” fundraiser to benefit the Botanic Gardens in purchasing security equipment.
