On the evening of Saturday 28th June 2014 Burneside Brass under the direction of our MD Mr L Johnston performed at Kendal Fellside. The event was hosted by the Fellside community, this was a free concert for those wishing to attend the event and was a concert to celebrate Armed Forces Day and also to commemorate the start of World War one. The concert began with the National Anthem followed by The Exhortation read by Mr D Higson and a minute silence was observed to remember all those who have given the ultimate sacrifice. Our concert then began with the March Holyrood and we then performed the following pieces Jerusalem, The Great Escape, Pride of the Fair Arr L Johnston, Lady in Red,1914 March, Nimrod, The Acrobat and we closed the first half of our concert with the March To the Front Arr L Johnston. The band and audience enjoyed a short break and we then opened the second half of the concert with Hoch Heidecksburg Arr L Johnston, Eternal Farther Arr L Johnston, Blaydon Races, Waterloo to the Somme Arr L Johnston, The Kings Own Border Regimental March, Air and Rondo, All in the April Evening, Ticket to Ride and we concluded our performance with the march Glorious Victory Arr D Higson Soloists tonight were Harold Roberts Flugel Horn - Lady in Red Craig Woods 1st Trombone - The Acrobat David French Solo Euphonium - Blaydon Races Dave Higson Solo Horn - Air and Rondo Thank you to Ian Mayoh, and Ben Croston for helping us out today :) as well as Ian Honeywell
