On the ground assessments today of the progress of the EU funded Sawlog Production Grant Scheme in Mityana, Mubende and Fort Portal. Europe remains a committed partner supporting the development of Ugandas forestry industry providing subsidy grants to private tree farmers as an incentive for long term investment in the forestry sector. H.E Ambassador Kristian Schmidt, the EU Head of Delegation to Uganda, hit the ground running today for a closer inspection of the works. The EU-Head announced the doubling of EU support to the project to €16million over the next four years.
