On the last train for very likely the last time from Puk to the Pas. The journey of the last 5 and a half years has been challenging, rewarding, and never dull. I went to Puk and Sakastew with a goal. To do the best I could, and to make a difference in the lives of my students. I am proud of the work I did, and I hope that I did make a small difference in the lives of some of the students. I will remember much. I will remember the people. Jenny. We did good work. Doris, Ray, Flora, Irene, Christina, Teresa, Evelyn, Ivy, Eileen, Clare, Garrett, Kevin, Wilma,, Joe, Keith. John and Sheila. The entire staff of the Northern…….Melinda, Preston, Conrad. Delinda. Ovid, Wayne, Tron, John. Bruce and Cornelia. Jodean, Tasha and Leigh. All the teachers who came and went during my time there. Eilidh, Dale and Winnie, Fraser, Tammy, Andrea, Anita……..and all the rest……..so many. Shirley. Denis. Gordon, Suzette, Karen, Ruby, Jim, Kyle, Wanda. Ken and the staff at the health center. Dr. Spring. Wally. Charmaine, Sandy, Padre Vijay, Aaron, Linda, Mindy, Robert, Hanson and Sarah Jane, Darcy, Vernon. And so many, many more……and I apologize for not naming everyone……..just too many! And these are not even the students. So many I counted as friends and colleagues. I am privileged to have worked with you and to have known you. And then there were the students. There are simply too many to mention. If I fail to do so, it is not because I do not remember……..just that the list is so damned long! Junior, the Patricks, LR, JJ, Claudemere and Claude Jr., Melinda, Barb, Sonny, Chloe, Alex, Brentan, Cody, Clifford, Duvall, Hope, Density (!), Breanna, Desiree, Avey, Leanna, Marty, Travis, Rueben, Rose, Triston, Harrison, Sage, Morning Star, Wakiza, Jacinda, Talsa, Jarvis, Noah, Reagan, Bobby, Nicosis, Kim, Skyler, Sherry Lee, Allison, Andrew, Chaylynn, Leah, Marie, Nakisha, Rachael, River, Seth, Sage, Summer, Tip, Treena, Wilma……………..and so, so many more. It was a pleasure to have met you all, and to have counted you among people I admire and respect. NEVER, ever lose sight of who you are, where you have come from, and what the future holds for all of you. It is a turbulent time, and change is the one thing we can count on. My wish for all of you in Puk is for a change that uplifts, cleanses and makes clear the life we all have chosen. Be well, be strong, be peaceful, and, above all, be vigilant…….for the changes are upon us. Wolfman will remember. August 16, 2014
