On the next Tuesday Morning Show, Marcie looks back at the year in music. 2014 saw the release of critically acclaimed CDs by 80-year-old Leonard Cohen and 21-year-old Parker Millsap; Lucinda Williams’ first album for her own record label; and tributes to Lou Reed, JJ Cale, and Jackson Browne. Browne came out with his own CD, as did contemporaries Bruce Springsteen, Yusuf (aka Cat Stevens), and Robert Plant. Rosanne Cash recorded with husband John Leventhal and ex Rodney Crowell, Jeff Tweedy (Wilco) with son Spencer, and Teddy Thompson with his whole family. Ryan Adams turned producer for Jenny Lewis, while the Black Keys’ Dan Auerbach produced Nikki Lane and Ray LaMontagne. Lake Street Dive and St. Paul & the Broken Bones burst onto the scene in a big way. This and much more of the music of 2014.
