On the notion of music sculpting time: Al Razutis: Thanks for this post and collection of installations, each of which takes time to explore (in photos) to ascertain the what (this is about) instead of merely a photo view. So, Ronald Pellegrino please explain what you mean by music sculpting time, or off the wall and into time. Ronald Pellegrino: In a nutshell. Dont get stuck on any fixed meaning of a word; try to understand its meaning from its context. Then understand that the word time has multiple meanings and dont get stuck believing that the word carries all time experiences. Unlike a static photo which may take some of your time to interpret, music cannot be captured in an instant. It ebbs and flows, soars and settles all in the context of giving realtime shapes that envelope the body and engage the heart and mind. The traditional art world is wrapped up in galleries, in museums and on walls all for the presentation of static images. The new art world of dynamic light (fluid and articulated motion) is like music in the sense that it doesnt stand still in any one particular place and doesnt ask you to be still; instead it moves and articulates time like music. If you really want to know all the answers to your question you need to run personal experiments at every opportunity comparing the differences between photos and dynamic light forms and then the words will make more sense to you. You might start with my YouTube channel which has loads of examples because Im a composer of the electronic arts of sound and light and everything I do emerges from these concepts. the channel is at https://youtube/user/ronapell?feature=mhee
