On the occasion of PICs Third Foundation Day on 24th Sept., Prof. M. M. Sharma (Padma Vibhushan), Dr. R. A. Mashelkar (Padma Vibhushan) and Dr. Vijay Kelkar (Padma Vibhushan) will felicitate students from Rural Maharashtra who were selected in the Gopal Krishna Gokhale Vichar Spardha. Each of these young rural students wrote about their ideas on village development. Each one chose 2 of 5 topics viz. Education, Water, Energy, Health and Sanitation. 7600 students from 200 schools of 28 districts participated in this competition. While 3 each from 5 regions of Maharashtra will receive trophies, each of 7600 will receive a participation certificate encouraging the children in 200 schools. On this occasion, students from villages of Maharashtra will be interacting with Luminaries in Pune that include Scientists, Economists, Film Actors, Directors, Journalists, Editors, Businesspersons and professionals. What a sight it will be to see Todays leaders interact with some of the future ones !
