On the topic of organ donation...what exactly does brain death mean?? How is it defined? Doctor Robert Truog is more than qualified to speak to this. He is a Professor of Medical Ethics, Anesthesiology and Pediatrics at the Harvard medical School and is a senior associate of critical medicine at the Childrens Hospital in Boston. He recieved his medical degree from UCLA and holds a Masters degree in philosophy from Brown. He also directs the institute for professionalism and ethical practice at the Childrens Hospital. He is the Director of clinical ethics in the division of medical ethics and in the department of social medicine at the Harvard Medical School. Dr. Truog is widely published in the field of bioethics and recently wrote some national guidelines for end of life care in the intensive care unit. And there are many more things that could be said about this man. Anyway, I HIGHLY recommend this video. It is well worth your time.
