On the one hand, I cant believe the stupidity of so many drivers - TopicsExpress

On the one hand, I cant believe the stupidity of so many drivers in Korea (women chasing after their cars on foot, ppl flooring the car in reverse but thought it was in D, ppl driving into poles, barriers, and parking of course), but on the other hand, were talking about a country that has more cars on the road than all of Canada, yet is only the size of southern ontario. So what would you really expect? That many cars packed into a tiny piece of land, its no wonder why cars have to be parked literally anywhere as there is just no space. Im from Canada, and its an absolute joy driving there. Barely any speed bumps, wide open roads, smooth carefree driving. I had no idea it would be this much of a pain to drive in Korea. The speed bumps alone make it a living hell. There are speed bumps every 100 feet you drive, and some are actually FAKE speed bumps (just painted ones) to fool you into slowly down if you didnt know it was a fake speed bump. You cant enjoy a nice smooth easy ride because you have to go through 500 speed bumps for a 30 minute drive. Lets not forget how much gas that burns from all the stop and go, and then the wear and tear it does on your cars shocks, suspension, and other parts. The other thing thats worse than the parking are the STUPID traffic lights they set up on roads where there is NO TRAFFIC. So if youre driving along smoothly at 80 km/h with no traffic in site, youll suddenly come across a TRAFFIC LIGHT that turns red and there are NO CARS on the other side. So you just sit there for 30 seconds and nobody was there. Often times, if I dont see a camera, Ill just go through the redlight and screw braking to a complete stop killing my gas. The worst is, sometimes the light turns red and as soon as you come to a screeching halt after going 80 km/h, the light literally turns back to green only 2 seconds after it turned red. WTF was that????? Made me stop hard and now I have 5000rpm hard back to get up to speed cuz traffic behind me is coming at 80-90 km/h. This is common in the smaller towns/areas like where I live. ITS A PAIN IN THE ASS. I now run as many red lights as possible. I never used to do that in Canada. Im convinced now that it is not so much that people are bad drivers but that the rules and traffic laws/infrastructure contribute heavily to traffic accidents and stupid drivers. I cant tell you how many times Ive seen literally 3 or 4 consecutive traffic lights all within a 500 foot distance. You pass one, and 20 feet later u have to stop at red. But theres 2 more only 50 feet away. WTF.
