On the personal front.....I ran into a problem Im not sure how to handle. Im undergoing this check up program at the VA hospital here as a precaution. If there is something in my innards that needs addressing, then better to find it early....good idea I think. So, I attend this class at the VA to prepare for a certain examination. I was told I MUST have someone drive me to the hospital that day and wait til the procedure is over with, several hours, to drive me home. I cant drive myself or even call a cab because the driver must be there to sign in too and wait. My problem is I have nobody to ask locally to do this for me. I know lots of folks on a casual basis, but even the one friend I think I still have would balk at such a request....so Im not going to ask. This person didnt even pay me a visit when I was an inpatient for 12 days months ago at the VA getting an operation.....so much for friends. Im afraid Ill have to cancel the procedure due to logistics. The doctor told me no ifs ands or buts....a driver must take me and wait to drive me home.....so that is that.....
