On the same day India, an ex colony, and a recipient of British foreign aid, launches a rocket to Mars, our Government announces the closure of Portsmouth naval ship building with 500 years of greatness behind it. What was the point of the blood and guts and hardship beating the Nazis, fending off a rapacious USSR, if 67 years later Britain is subservient economically to Germany and Japan who were supposed to have lost. This a reflection of the idiotic banking and government systems and the cretinous trades unions we have enjoyed in my lifetime.
