On the surface the english bible appears as a book of prophecies foretold in the future however it is a returning to ancient paths. A path once known...it has happen time and time again where the earth goes through a time of mourn, a time of desolation, darkness...each coming of age experiences these cycles. This is what is called karmic/cosmic cycles. Only when we learn knowledge of self can we break these karmic/cosmic cycles of life and death. There is no easy pass to escape earth, we have to restore nature back to harmony then the meek shall inherit the earth just as the book says! If not youll just being doing the same dance all over again.
