On the surface the trade of Luongo looks bad & combined w/ the trade of Schneider it looks worse, 3 bags of pucks in return basically. Probably the best goal-tending tandem in the NHL - or in the world, gone. But Lack is great! The back-up has promise and Lu is edging towards old. Although it would have been good to keep him sorta, he was expensive. Now FLA looks stupid. They have a 39-year-old & a 34-year-old goalie, one expensive, the other with a no-trade clause. A playoff-bound team that needs a goalie, should have gotten Lu., not a crap team like FLA...& they gave away youth and took on most of a bad contract. Bo Horvat, the 9th overall pick that was taken in the trade for Schneids may never make it, but may also become a player you build a team around. We have six players with that sort of potential with Kassian, Horvat, Gaunce, Lack, Schroeder & Shinkaruk. Who knows what Kesler will bring. No there is no cup coming, but Canucks had their run for a decade & may have a bright future....depending what further trades bring....drum roll please....
