On thing I can say about the readers theater I was conned into doing is that it has helped me remember some of the songs that played such a major role in boosting the spirits of the early saints during the early years of the church, as they were persecuted for their faith by their fellow man. This is one I remember singing most Sundays as a youth, before the church came out with affirmative action for hymns and we had to start singing the ones that were not popular or easy to sing.
