On this 12th day of January in 1941, British Blues vocalist Long John Baldry was born in East Maddon, UK. Baldry was one of the founders of The British Blues movement that began in the late 50s. He sang with Blues Incorporated, a band that served as a springboard for many British Blues-Rock stars. Baldry then joined fellow Blues Inc. alumni Cyrill Davies in Cyrill Davies` R&B All Stars, and retained the band as his own after Davies` death in 1964. He re-named the group Long John Baldry and His Hootchie Cootchie Men. The band featured Rod Stewart as co-vocalist. In the late 60s, Baldry forsook the Blues for pop and had a few minor hits in England that failed to get any attention in The USA. Baldry now resides in Canada and is trying to revive a Blues career. youtu.be/Bj_lZ4hkJd8
