On this 27th day of December in 1931 Scotty Moore, guitarist for Elvis Presley, was born in Gasden, TX. Moore was one of the great pioneers of early Rock n Roll guitar, and played on all of Elvis` Sun Records and early RCA sides. he continued to play and record with, as well as produce , Elvis untill the late 60s. He gave up playing , workng as a recording engineer for people as diverse as Ringo Starr and Tracy Nelson, for 25 years. He picked up the guitar again in the early 90s and recorded and toured with Carl Perkins, and also recorded an Elvis tribute album with DJ Fontana, with appearances by Kieth Richards, Ron Wood, Jeff Beck, and others.
