On this 9/11 anniversary, please ponder this truth. King David got in huge trouble with His God because he counted every man in his army. You may wonder what the big deal was. It was quite simple and relates to America today. He was placing his trust in the future, in his throne, and the future of Israel in the size of his army and not God Himself. This upset the Lord greatly. Today, our politicians, as well as our citizens, are doing the exact same thing. Since we have the most advanced armed forces the world has ever seen, we believe that we are safe. 9/11 proved that theory foolish. In the end, God is the One who protects this nation. Consider this truth. In an instant, an intense solar blast can knock out our electricity for months and years sending us back into the 1930s. In an instant, several well placed suitcase nuclear bombs could knock out entire cities and destroy our economy. I could go on and on about the dangers in this world. It is GOD, and not our government, who ultimately protects you and me. I thank God for our military, yes, and appreciate the blood, sweat, and tears of them and their families. They should be honored daily for their sacrifice and heroism. But it is our Maker, our Creator, that chooses to either bless and protect America or lift His hand of protection to rebuke and discipline.
