On this ART DECO WEEKEND, as Miami Beach celebrates 100 years, I am remembering, with great fondness, Doris Eaton Travis. Doris was the oldest living Ziegfeld Girl and a great friend to Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS. With an assist from Tom Viola, back in 2008, we got her to come be the Grand Marshall of ART DECO WEEKEND, in January of that year. She was 103 years old and in terrific shape, both physically and mentally. I will never forget the weekend ... or HER. I rode in the vintage car with her, in the Parade. R.I.P. Doris. You were loved by so many and by the Broadway and Theatre Community. XO
