On this Christmas Eve I would like to share my thoughts on FACING UP TO CHRISTMAS AND WELCOMING THE CHRIST........IN HIS FEAR AND RAGING JEALOUSY, King Herod responded to the newborn Jesus with bloodthirsty hostility: Destroy Him! Let Him die while He is still in His cradle! The response grew and swelled until one day many years later it became a mad mobs terrifying roar: Take him away! Take him away! Crucify him! (John 19:15 NIV) In many hearts, this cry is still being shouted. The world rejects its Messiah. If He would remain a gentle an mild Jesus, that would be all right. Or if He remained a mystical dreamer, that would be all right. But a reigning Christ, an invading Christ-- that is unacceptable to millions of people. That is a menace to their way of life. It damages their self-determination and strikes at the roots of their stubborn independence. During this Christmas season, however, may you welcome this reigning Christ, invading Christ, revolutionary Christ, life-changing Christ into your life anew. .................................................................................................... Then, being divinely warned in a dream that they should not return to Herod, they departed for their own country another way.....Then Herod, when he saw that he was deceived by the wise men, was exceedingly angry.
